Among the most coveted of Bisbee specimens are calcites that contain other minerals as inclusions. This specimen was collected in the Cole Shaft. It is a very nice example of Calcite scalenohedra, which are enclosing microscopic needles of green Malachite. Only the Calcites in direct contact with the matrix show the green Malachite color; any Calcite crystals perched on top of those are colorless.
